The software is available either as a trial version or as a purchase. The appearance of the application is very attractive with huge map displays which will look gorgeous on an Apple Cinema Display. GPS tracker logs with GPS and waypoints can be accessed from big brands like NMEA, Sony LOG, GPX, and Wintec TES. IPhone and iPad photos can be matched to reference photos. Meta data can be changed whether it is in the EXIF, IPTC or XMP tags format. Geocoding that is used by Google Earth, Wikipedia and many other sites and applications can be accessed within HoudahGeo by looking up the coordinates. Alternatively, the location where the shot was taken can be removed entirely. The GPS meta data can also be altered with a new location looked up and set within the image to protect or simply change the location embedded. The software can load each image in and present satellite, map or hybrid views of the location where the shot was apparently taken. HoudahGeo is a Mac software package that lets the user access the GPS coordinates embedded in meta data from images.
